Enabling NHS Alert Manager for the Practice

  1. Select Configure > Practice Settings.

  2. In the Practice Settings window, check (tick) the Include NHS Features checkbox and then select OK.

Security Settings

NHS Alert Manager is controlled by security settings but is by default enabled for Administrators, for whom it becomes visible once it is Enabled for the practice.

  1. Select Configure > Security

  2. In the Security settings desktop,

    1. Select the CODE (user group).

    2. Open the Administration tree.

    3. Check (tick) NHS Alert Manager.

    4. Click the Save button.

  3. Repeat this process for all appropriate users/user groups.

Configuring options

  1. Select Administration > NHS Alert Manager

  2. Complete the fields in the NHS Alert Manager screen shown below in accordance to your operational procedures at the practice.

Dental Assurance Framework

Band 3 treatment check:

This is checked by default (alerting is enabled) but can be unchecked if your practice does not want the alert. The Days are configurable.

If enabled (checked), Providers will see an alert when they create a Band 3 treatment check that is within the last XX days of the previous Band 3 treatment.

Alert Notes required.

By default this is un-checked. If enabled (checked), EXACT will require Providers to justify in notes why they are creating a Band 3 treatment within the last XX days of the previous Band 3 treatment.

Fluoride Varnish application:

This is checked by default (alerting is enabled) but can be unchecked if your practice does not want the alert. The age range is configurable.

If enabled (checked), Providers will see an alert prompting them to apply Fluoride Varnish for NHS patients in the specified age range who last had an application more than X months ago (where X is 18 or lower).

Duration since last application

Specify a duration for alerting purposes.

Fissure Sealant prompt:

This is checked by default (alerting is enabled) but can be unchecked if your practice does not want the alert. The Age range is configurable.

If enabled (checked), Providers will see an alert prompting them to apply Fissure Selant for NHS patients in the specified age range who last had an application more than X months ago (where X is configurable).

Duration since last application:

Specify a duration in months for alerting purposes.

By default this is un-checked. If enabled (checked), EXACT will require Providers to justify in notes why they are not applying Fissure Sealant seeing as the patient had the last application more than the specified X months ago, and the Provider has now been alerted to this fact.
