(Practice with a single terminal will not experience any difference in workflow)

Once enabled, this feature is applicable across the whole tenant.

How it works:
Consider a practice with three terminals (A, B and C) and four users (1, 2, 3, and 4).  Each time a user selects a terminal, they are provided the option to remember their selection. Assuming their choices are

1 & 2 =A, 3 = B, 4= C,

Scenarios:

  1. No terminals in use. User 1 sends a payment. It goes to terminal A.
  2. Terminal A is in use. User 1 sends a payment. She gets the option to select B or C. The payment goes to the selected terminal.
  3. Terminals A and B are in use. User 1 sends a payment. It goes to terminal C.
  4. Terminals A, B and C are in use. User 1 sends a payment. She gets the option to select A, B, or C. The payment is set to Awaiting Terminal. If user 1 resets the terminal, the payment goes to the selected terminal.

(First time selecting a preferred terminal)

(Terminal ‘A’ selected as preferred terminal)

(End of transaction, reset preferred terminal button displayed)

(Preferred terminal not reset - subsequent transaction defaults to Terminal A)

(Reset preferred terminal button is clicked - subsequent transaction takes user back to the initial select preferred terminal screen)
