NHS England, Wales & NI - Holding Claims

In EXACT when you TC a claim it will be picked up and sent to the board on your next transmission. If you want to stop a claim from being sent you can use the hold function under the NHS payor. You must remember to unhold the claim when you are ready to send it otherwise it will never be transmitted to the board.

To hold a claim:

1. Click File > Payors

2. Select the NHS payor then click on the £ symbol on the toolbar

3. On the ‘Payor Transactions’ window, highlight the COT to be ‘held’ and click the Hold/Release button. A ‘hand’ symbol  will appear next to the ‘Transaction’ symbol as shown below:

4. This item will not be added to any new Claim Bundles created, and will therefore not be passed on to the NHS Dental Services.

5. To Release a COT go back to the ‘Payor Transactions’ window. Click on the held claim and select Hold/Release again the ‘hand’ symbol will be removed and the COT will then be available for Claim Bundling.
