When you start a conversation using instant messenger, you will now have a choice of whether to send messages indiviually or as a group. Individual messages are the normal choice, where however many people you send to, any replies they generate will only come back to you. If you want to have a group chat where everyone can see everyone elses responses, then tick "Send to group" when you have selected more than one person in the Recipient list.

Users that get messages from you will know whether they are responding to a group or just to you, becasue the 'To' list will show the number of recipients, and the Reply button button will change to 'Reply to All'

Another change that message recipients will notice is that they will no longer see the receipients control when they receive a message. The conversation view now spans the whole window

Windows 10 users can now have their messages arrive as Notifications. If notifications are turned on in Windows, then arriving messages will be shown as a notification pop-up

This option is not available for older operating systems.

Clicking on the notification wll open the Message in Exact. If the notification dissappears before it is clicked on, it will go into the notification centre where it can be clicked on to open the message.

Exact needs to be open for this to function, so if a message is clicked whilst Exact is closed, then the login window will be brought up. To open the message, click again in the notification centre once login in as the correct user.

Notifications for Exact can be turned on and off, in Windows using the normal methods. Make sure that notifications are on, and that they are enabled for Exact.

Panic messages will bypass the notifications.and appear in the main window, regardless of whether notifications are enabled or not. They are important and we want users to pay attention to them straight away.

Limitations and Work-arounds

If you are running Exact twice on one computer, clicking on a notifications won't open the message window. IF you are using exact in this manner, then turn off notifaction from Exact using the windows controls so that you can still easily reply to your messages.
