You will receive a call from PSD eDental Transition team advising you when to start each phase.

You will need to log in as an EXACT administrator.

Phase 1 

Before activating the first phase you will need to ensure all claims have been sent to the NHS on the date agreed by the Practitioner Services.

Once you have sent these claims you need to do the following...

To configure eDental Phase 1

  • If you have the Payors icon on the workspace bar, click its dropdown menu and select NHS:

  1. Log into EXACT as an Administrator user then go to File, Payors and select the active NHS payor you will be using for eDental claims.

  2. Click Transmit Setup.

  3. Choose the Prepare for eDental option and click Next.

  2. EXACT will advise if any claims are still awaiting transmission

  1. but this can usually be skipped as it relates to old EDI claims that can no longer be claimed.

  2. If any first or last names are missing in the Providers file then EXACT will advise you to fill this in.

Please double check all names to ensure they are correct - there is an edit option that will allow you to edit any names.

Phase 1 is now complete.

You will no longer be able to make any claims until eDental has been fully implemented. However you can receive any acknowledgements / responses of the claims you have recently sent.

Phase 2

Please activate Phase 2 on the transition date agreed with the practitioner services.

Before activating Phase 2, please ensure that all claim acknowledgments / responses have been received...

To ensure that all claim acknowledgments / responses have been received

  1. Go to File > Payors
  2. Bring up the NHS.
  3. Click Transmit Claims.

  1. Then click Finish

  2. Click Transmit Setup again.

  3. Choose the eDental option and click Next.

  2. Click Next> to display the Transmission Setup - Prerequisites screen.

    Check the checkboxes to confirm that you have completed all of the prerequisites and then click Next>.

  2. In the Transmission Setup - eDental Information window, enter your Site Number (If you do not know your Site number please contact Practitioner Services):

Completion

Once set up, the practice is eDental enabled.

eDental changes EXACT in multiple ways, as described in: Changes in EXACT following eDental setup.

If an Administrative user reopens Transmit Setup, they will be prevented from going back to Prepare or EDI: only the Prerequisites page and eDental Information page display for edits if needed.
