All or part of the monetary value of a patient transaction can be transferred to another patient, or payor.
This is most commonly used if one payment is being processed to pay more than one account.

Example:

  • Mr Bell wants to pay Mrs Bell’s account as well as his own.

  • Mrs Bell’s balance would be transferred to Mr Bell’s account

  • This would increase Mr Bell’s balance and clear Mrs Bell’s account.

  • The payment would then be processed against Mr Bell’s account for the total amount.

The transfer button can also be used to transfer money between patients and payors, e.g. capitation schemes.
A list of all Transfers can be viewed and printed from the ‘Accounts’ menu under ‘List Items’, ‘List Transfers’.

Transferring a Transaction to another Patient

  2. Select the transaction(s) that you wish to transfer, then click the Transfer button to open the Transfer Wizard window:

The current patient's Transactions window will show the transfer details, and the balance will be reduced by that amount.

To reverse the transfer you can select and delete the transaction.

  7. The recipient patient's Transactions window displays the reverse entry and a balance change:

Transferring a Patient Amount to a Payor

It is possible to transfer an amount from a patient’s file into that of a payor. This occurrence is very rare, and is not appropriate to use in cases when a payor treatment has been incorrectly invoiced as a private treatment. Should you be contemplating using this option, please consult first with the support desk.
