If a patient has

then Clinipad will now include a question to them on the Clinipad Patient Information screen:

"How did you hear about the practice?".

Alongside this question is a dropdown list of configured active referral sources from which the patient can select:

Note that stating referral sources is not mandatory for the patient, so it is not problematic that patients have blank selections.

If the patient selects a referral source it will be written back to their patient file record and they won't be asked again.

Clinipad always displays the patient's existing data as the default answer so that if the patient skips the question, the data is not changed.

Clinipad always includes a blank option in the list so that the patient can deliberately not answer the question.

Your practice can configure reasons for new patient referral and Clinipad will present these reasons to the new patient.

TIP: The reasons will likely change so be sure to review these referral sources periodically to make sure that you have all the ones you want, and you've removed the ones that you don't want.

Some guidelines for the list:

Reasons need to be configured in the Patient Details Tab - See also: Configuring new patient referral-source capture

Patient Health Fund Capture

On the Clinipad patients can answer this question by selecting from a list of options:

"Which Health Fund are you with?"

Patients will be asked this question each time they use Clinipad so that they can update the information if it changes.

Clinipad always displays the patient's existing data as the default answer so that if the patient skips the question, the data is not changed.

Clinipad always includes a blank option in the list so that the patient can deliberately not answer the question.

Requirements for this feature:

Configuration:

From the the Patient Details Tab the Health Fund options are only viewable.

The options list is auto-populated by the HLTHFUND table, but this list can be edited via Configure > HICAPS.

TIP: To ease patient selection, edit the list to only those Health Funds used by the practice.
