EXAMINE Pro is a complete digital imaging software solution that allows a clinic to bring together all of its digital radiographs, photographs, video files and intra-oral images, from multiple sources so that they can all be viewed from the patient’s file in EXACT.

Even when several different hardware systems are used, the images can be stored in the EXAMINE Pro database, then integrated in EXACT so that they are usable in the patient chart for estimates or wherever else they are required.

EXAMINE Pro works with a wide variety of digital hardware to seamlessly integrate all your images into the EXACT chart screen. From here an image can be stored, retrieved, printed and copied, while retaining its original format.

Advanced diagnostic tools in EXAMINE Pro can dramatically improve the image quality and provide measurement tools for precise analysis while offering a full range of printing options.

Images are viewed directly from the patient’s tooth chart. If an image exists for a tooth, it appears in thumbnail view allowing immediate access.

Image data displays in a popup when you hover the mouse cursor over an image. The data includes image type, image capture date, tooth notations and file size. Double-click the image to expand it to full size in order to view details and manipulate as required.

EXAMINe Pro Xray Audit Report

Xray Audits are commonly completed only a few times a year. Dental practices with EXAMINE Pro use the Xray Audit Report to review the number and grade of Xrays by User and Image Type. The report identifies anomalies and provides a snapshot of Xray acceptability, enabling the practice to manage their Xray quality in accordance with regulatory standards.

It shows the Radiographs taken, the user who took them, the image type, the grades that have been assigned by the user, and the Totals.

Note that the report can only display results if data has been entered by Providers / Radiographers when taking Xrays. This requires appropriate setup of the dropdown menus and consistent use of those menus by the Providers / Radiographers. Both setup and user procedures are described below.

Users are able to audit their Xrays as required by some authorities.
By automating the Report through the EXACT Scheduler, a practice can build Xray quality control into routine practice workflows.

Features

Options to print, preview, or email the report.
Run this report automatically on schedule by means of the EXACT Scheduler.
Make the report a favourite for accessing quickly from the Report Favourites List.
Accept the default previous month for report period or manually specify a date range.
Opt to show a detailed record of each Xray captured during the report period to effectively justify the numbers in the report.
Xray quality rating scale uses both numerals and characters (from best to worst 1/A > 2/B > 3/C).
Xray images that have been deleted (hidden from the user interface) are still included in the report, as it is likely that these are the very images with a low diagnostic quality.

Requirements

EXACT version 11.3 SP3 or later.
EXAMINE Pro module registered and installed in the practice (the Software of Excellence Digital Imaging team can assist in installation).
The PC from which the report is run must have EXAMINE Pro installed and running.
Required "Extra Info" (User, Grade and Image Type) must have been selected by Providers when taking Xrays (see initial configuration and recording procedure below).

To configure EXAMINE Pro with "Extra Info" options for saving Xrays

This is for configuring the dropdown menu options for the numbered dropdown menus in the above image (1, 2 and 3).

Select Options > Setup > Display Settings tab > Image Properties tab > Extra Info tab
The Extra Info tab has Field Files:
Click the button to the right of each Field File line to open a named .TXT document (such as users.txt).
Add the options that you want to show in the Providers' dropdown menus, in these formats:

(Users are the initials of your Providers and the staff that will be taking the radiographs)
Save each .txt file
Click Save Changes in the Settings window.
Restart EXACT / EXAMINE Pro.
Check that your configuration is correct.

Provider procedural requirement when saving Xrays:
To ensure that the report is complete and accurate, when they save Xrays Providers need to consistently add the following information from the dropdown options:
1. User
2. Grade
3.Image Type

To run the Xray Audit Report from the Reports screen

Select Administration > Reports to display the Reporting screen with a list of EXACT reports.
To locate the Xray Audit Report in the list, either
- Click the Name column once or twice to sort in reverse alphabetical order, and it should be listed right at the top ("Xray"), or
- Select the Group column to sort by group, and locate it in the Practice Management Group
The report parameters window displays:
The default From and To date range is the previous month up to today.
The Show Detail checkbox is unchecked by default but retains user settings.
Set the parameters and then choose an output option (Print, Preview, Email)

Sample Xray Audit Report

This report is from a practice where Examine Pro has been configured with extra information options that the Providers capture when taking Xrays. It shows the Radiographs taken, the user who took them, the image type, the grades that have been assigned by the user, and the Totals.

It also has a Summary and Detail section.
