Charting Decay for DMF
DMF stands for Decayed, Missing, Filled and is sent to the NHS as part of an NHS COT automatically based on what has been charted.
The Decayed information is based on the state of the mouth before the Course of Treatment begins. The decayed information sent in your NHS claim can be altered when you TC the treatment.
How to chart Decay?
This is done via base charting using the code ·CARIES before the treatment begins.
When you TC treatment it will show the number of decayed Permanent/Deciduous teeth. This can be edited on the NHS FP17 window when you TC before sending the claim.
