How do I upgrade my Oasis?
Server Upgrade
From time-to-time, Oasis will release new versions of its software. These new versions are obtainable from the Oasis National Support Centre and are contained in a single executable – “oasisserverupgrade.exe”.
You run this program on the Oasis database server only. It must be run with full administrative rights to ensure successful installation.
The upgrade may (or may not) include schema updates. There will be a warning message if there is a schema update, and you are given the opportunity to delay the update if the process may take some time to complete.
NOTE: All users must be logged out of Oasis before you run the upgrade program. This includes the CX Server program.
Workstation Upgrade
When a server is upgraded with the latest version, the database is updated to reflect the new version. When a workstation opens Oasis, the version is checked against the server version and if an update is required, the workstation will upgrade itself from the server.
The server upgrade loads files into the OASIS share’s oasis\upgrade folder and these files are executed by the workstation to upgrade itself.
