NHS 2020/2021 Q4 UDA Target Update
As of 04/01/2021 (Until 31/03/2021)
As an NHS Practices, you must hit 45% of their target for the final quarter of the financial year to receive your full payment (this means you need to achieve 45% of your total contract target ÷ 4)
There is a buffer zone of 36% which means if you hit 36%; anything below 45% which be adjusted incrementally e.g. hitting 40.5% of the target would equate to you receiving 90% of your full payment; hitting the minimum of 36% would mean you get paid 80% of your full payment for the quarter.
If you fall under 36% you will only receive credit for the UDAs delivered – this will be a significant fall in payment and we don’t want practices in this predicament.
We do not recommend amending or adding your NHS Contracts within EXACT as it can cause issues later with contract rollovers and as well as with reporting within EXACT and MPC.
(i.e Reports will have to be run for the two periods independently for the time frames because the contracts will be separate.)
We have had confirmation from the board that where a patient has not had an appointment after 1st January the UDA’s from the claim will not count towards the final quarter target.
Where a patient has an appointment after 1 January but fails to attend and their last appointment took place before the 31 December, for example, 28 October, once the form is submitted it will appear on a later schedule but the activity will be allocated towards the achievement of the minimum 20% target (20 July - 31 December).
If the failure to attend occurs after the 31 March but their last appointment had been between 1 January and 31 March and the form was submitted in April, May or June, it will appear on a later schedule but the activity will be allocated towards the achievement of the minimum 45% target for 1 January - 31 March 2020.
This means that only the following COTs will be counted in the final quarter window:
Is an incomplete COT but the has attended the practice between 1st January 2021 and 31st March 2021 (please not if an appointment takes place after the 31st March this will go onto the 21-22 contract)
A COT is started before 1st January 2021 but completed after 1st January 2021
A COT is started and completed between 1st January 2021 and 31st March 2021
UDA’s that have been held or resubmitted and sent again from before this date will not be counted towards the final quarter target.
What we recommend:
Using the NHS Compass website for tracking accepted UDAs. Compass is updated more regularly than EXACT and claims and any responses should appear on there within 20 minutes of them being received.
Using the NHS Old UDA/UOA Report to keep on track of what you are sending off to the board and the NHS UDA's/UOA's In Progress Report to make sure you are sending off all possible UDAs so you do not fall short – We would recommend running these at least once a week.
Sending COTs of more frequently than the standard once a week. Ideally, each provider would transmit their claims for that day so any responses can be dealt with quickly.
