Processing Payments

Processing Payments for a patient can be done via the Patient Transactions screen. This can be accessed by clicking on the £ (€ or $ for other regions) button in either the patients file or the edit appointment window.

This will display the Transactions window showing you all the past transactions for that patient.

To make a payment click on the payment button

 

This will display the Payment window. From here you can

  • Change the date (for backdating payments)

  • Change the Provider. It is defaulted to the invoice it is allocating to or the patients primary dentist)

  • Add any Stock Items

  • Change what invoices it will be allocated to. This will be done automatically but may be required if multiple treatments are happening at the same time.

  • Change the payment amount., by default it will be the due balance but can be changed if part paying or overpaying.

  • Change the Payment Method the patient used.

You can also add notes to the payment for any required information. The Add Completed and Planned checkboxes allow you to pay for treatment that has not been charged for yet.

Click on the Process button to process the payment.

The payment will now show in the Patients Transactions screen.
